Yashin has previously played in the Kontinental Hockey League for Atlant Moscow Oblast, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, HC Yugra, Kunlun Red Star and Severstal Cherepovets.His father Oleg Yashin (born 1968) was a forward of Khimik Voskresensk and Fort Wayne Komets.
