Marco Melandri (born 7 August 1982) is an Italian former motorcycle road racer.
In his last competitive season he rode in the Superbike World Championship for Italy-based GRT team using Yamaha R1 machines with teammate Sandro Cortese.
In July 2019, Melandri announced his intended retirement at the end of the season.Melandri lost his position with the Ducati factory team midway through the 2018 Superbike season, finishing the 2018 riders' championship in fifth place. Melandri was the 2002 250 cc World Champion, and finished second overall in the 2005 MotoGP season.
