About Edwin Seroussi
- Edwin Seroussi (born 26 December 1952 in Montevideo) is an Israeli musicologist of Uruguayan origin, and winner of a 2018 Israel Prize.Edwin Seroussi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
- He immigrated to Israel in 1971.
- He is currently professor of musicology and director of the Jewish Music Research Centre at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
- His research interests include Jewish musical traditions in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as Israeli popular music. Seroussi's publications include Spanish-Portuguese Synagogue Music in Reform Sources from Hamburg (1996) and the Cancionero sefardi (1995) by Alberto Hemsi.
- He is the co-author of Popular Music and National Culture in Israel.
