Edith Ingeborg Schippers (born 25 August 1964) is a Dutch retired politician and businesswoman serving as Chairwoman at the DSM Company since 1 February 2019.
A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), she is a political consultant by occupation.
Schippers was a member of the House of Representatives from 3 June 2003 until 14 October 2010.
Following the 2010 general election, she was asked to become Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport in the First Rutte cabinet taking office on 14 October 2010.
After the election of 2012 she returned as a member of the House of Representatives, serving from 20 September 2012 until 5 November 2012.
Schippers remained Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport in the Second Rutte cabinet serving until 26 October 2017.
She did not stand for the election of 2017 and announced her semi-retirement.
