He was drafted by the Ottawa Renegades in the fifth round of the 2005 CFL Draft.
He played CIS football for the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Baird also played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Edmonton Eskimos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
