- Alex Noerdin (born September 9, 1950) has been the Governor of South Sumatra since 7 November 2008.
- Previously he served as regent in Banyuasin for 2 consecutive periods (2001–2006 and 2007–2012).
- On June 14, 2008, in the second period of his tenure, he resigned associated with his candidacy as governor of South Sumatra in the local elections from 2008 to 2013 period.
- He was born in Palembang, South Sumatra. His second term ended slightly earlier than scheduled on 21 September 2018, and he was replaced by Herman Deru.
