Amit Prakash Sharma (born April 12, 1968) is an Indian parasitologist and the head of the Structural and Computational Biology Group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
Known for his studies on the disease of malaria, Sharma is an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, India.
The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, for his contributions to biosciences in 2007 and he received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, one of the highest Indian science awards, in 2011.
