About Aslaug Blytt

  • Aslaug Blytt (24 April 1899, Bergen – 22 April 1966) was a Norwegian art historian and museum manager, and politician.
  • She worked as a teacher in secondary school, later at the National Gallery of Norway in Oslo, and was then manager of the Bergen art galleries Rasmus Meyers Samlinger and Bergen Billedgalleri.
  • She is particularly known for her book about the painter Lars Hertervig.
  • During the German occupation of Norway she spent about one year incarcerated at the Grini concentration camp.
  • She was also a politician for the Norwegian Labour Party.
