Azeem Amrohi (Urdu: ????? ??????? ?), (born April 29, 1945) is an Urdu poet and a scholar.
He is the leading marsiya writer of the present era and the Urdu media refer to him as asr e hazir ka Meer.
Amrohi started writing poetry early in his life and has written almost every form of Urdu poetry, including Hamd, na`at, nazm, ghazal, qasida, salaam and manqabat).
As of 2011 he was most famous for his 30 elegiac marsiya.
