About Bob Keegan

  • Robert Charles Keegan (August 4, 1920 – June 20, 2001) was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox from 1953 to 1958.
  • He was originally from Rochester, New York. Keegan attended Bucknell University before becoming a White Sox in his early 30s.
  • In 1954 he made the American League All-Star Team.
  • That year, he went 16–9 with 3.09 ERA in over 200 innings pitched.
  • His 14 complete games that year was 9th in the league.
  • On August 20, 1957, he did no-hit the Washington Senators in the second game of a doubleheader at Comiskey Park.
  • He retired in 1958 after going 40–36 through his whole career. He was signed by Yankees scout Lou Maguolo.
