Firhad Hakim (born 1 January 1959) is an Indian politician serving as the mayor of Kolkata since 2018 and minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs of West Bengal since 2011.
A member of the All India Trinamool Congress party, Hakim was elected to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2009.
Two years later, he became a cabinet minister in the Mamata Banerjee ministry.
On December 2018, he was elected mayor following the resignation of the incumbent Sovan Chatterjee.
He is the first Muslim since the independence of India to become the mayor of the city.
Hakim is the organizer-in-chief of the Chetla Agrani Durga Puja committee.
