  • Healy (born December 16, 1950) is a New Jersey based politician who served as the 48th mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey serving from 2004 to 2013.
  • He ran for the unexpired term of the late Glenn D.
  • Cunningham and was elected in November 2004.
  • In the special election, he defeated Acting Mayor L.
  • Harvey Smith.
  • He was subsequently elected to a full term by a record landslide. Healy entered public service as an assistant prosecutor for the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in 1977.
  • From 1981 to 1991, he maintained a private law practice in Jersey City.
  • He was appointed Chief Judge in the Jersey City Municipal Court in 1991, and was reappointed in 1995.
