He qualified for the US Open and defeated Michael Berrer in the first round for his first win at Grand Slam level, and then lost to Tomáš Berdych in four sets in the second round. He reached the final in the St.
Petersburg Open in Russia, losing to Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky.
He also reached the doubles final at the Movistar Open in Santiago, Chile in 2010 with partner Potito Starace.
