(born June 17, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the mayor of Raleigh.
Hamilton was selected by the Boston Bruins in the first round, ninth overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Hamilton played for the Bruins for three seasons before he was traded to the Calgary Flames in the 2015 off-season.
He would play with the Flames for three seasons before he was traded to the Hurricanes in 2018.
