Donald Lee Demeter (born June 25, 1935) is an American former professional baseball outfielder, third baseman, and first baseman, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) over all or parts of 11 seasons for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians.
He batted and threw right-handed and was listed as 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) tall and 190 pounds (86 kg).From September 1962 to July 1965, Demeter had 266 consecutive errorless games in the outfield, a Major League record that would stand for almost 30 years, until Darren Lewis broke the mark in 1994, with 369.Born in Oklahoma City, Demeter is a member of The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
