  • He served one term in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican. Weber was born in Toledo, Ohio.
  • He attended Denison University, and earned a law degree from Harvard University.
  • Upon graduation, Weber began two years of service in the U.S.
  • Army.
  • After his discharge in 1958, he began to practice law.
  • In 1966, Weber was hired as a law professor by the University of Toledo. In 1980, Weber ran for the United States House of Representatives from a Toledo-based district.
  • He defeated 26-year incumbent Lud Ashley, chairman of the House Merchant Marine Committee, in a considerable upset.
  • This was due largely to Ronald Reagan carrying Lucas County, home to Toledo.
  • In 1982, however, he lost his re-election bid to Marcy Kaptur.
