Francis Christopher Rowland Robinson CBE, DL (born 23 November 1944 in Barnet) is a British historian and academic who specialises in the history of South Asia and Islam.
Since 1990, he has been Professor of History of South Asia at the University of London.
He has twice been president of the Royal Asiatic Society: from 1997 to 2000, and from 2003 to 2006.
