Michel Rey Moore (born July 2, 1960) is an American police officer and the Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) since 2018.
On June 4, 2018 he was appointed to the posting by Eric Garcetti, Mayor of Los Angeles and was ratified by the Los Angeles City Council on June 27, 2018.
Moore succeeded Charlie Beck as the Chief of Police after Beck's retirement on June 27.
