Cord Byrd (born April 19, 1971) is a lawyer and member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 11th district, which includes Nassau County and part of Duval County.
A Republican, he was elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2018.Byrd graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor's degree.In 2019, Byrd sponsored a bill banning Sanctuary cities in the state of Florida.
in April of that year the Florida House passed the bill with 69-47 nearly along party lines to pass the measure Wednesday.In 2019, he represents a college student who was suspended indefinitely for posting a photo on Facebook of her and her boyfriend posing with guns at a shooting range.
She is African-American, and discrimination and a violation of her rights are alleged.
