About Frederik Christian Kaas

  • Frederik Christian Kaas (1 December 1727 - 28 March 1804) was a Danish naval officer and landowner, brother of Ulrik Christian Kaas. He joined the navy as a second lieutenant in 1747, became a viceadmiral in 1790 and an admiral in 1800.
  • On 7 January 1765, he was married on Constantinsborg to Sophie Elisabeth Charisius who died only 4 years later.
  • As a result, he married again on 11 September 1771 in Bøstrup Church to Edele Sophie Kaas.
  • He was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog, he also led Denmark–Norway in the Danish–Algerian War with 2 frigates, 2 bomb galiots and 4 ships of the line.
  • In 1765-66 he went on a diplomatic mission to Morocco.
