George Lovington Winter, nicknamed "Sassafrass" (April 27, 1878 in New Providence, Pennsylvania – May 26, 1951), was a professional baseball pitcher.
He played eight seasons in Major League Baseball, from 1901 through 1908, for the Boston Americans/Red Sox (1901–08) and the Detroit Tigers (1908).
Listed at 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m) and 155 pounds, Winter batted and threw right-handed.
