James McEvoy (14 October 1943 in Larne, Northern Ireland – 2 October 2010) was an Irish philosopher and priest.He undertook his undergraduate studies at Queen’s University of Belfast and proceeded for theological studies to St Patrick's College, Maynooth receiving ordination in 1968 for service in the Diocese of Down and Connor.
He was sent to Belgium for postgraduate studies and was appointed to the academic staff of Queen’s University of Belfast in 1974.
