About Gordon Haidy

  • Gordon Adam Haidy-Gord (April 11, 1928 – October 6, 2004) An ice hockey player who played right wing, shooting right. Gord was born in Windsor, Ontario.
  • Gordon played just one game, in the semi-finals.
  • For the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings in 1950.
  • Gord Haidy's name was not included On the Stanley Cup, he was not a regular player for the Red Wings.
  • The NHL credits him with winning one Stanley Cup. Gord did not play another game in the NHL, but he did play for several years.
  • In the minors, senior hockey level for the Ontario Hockey League- OHL. Gord Haidy is one of the first three hockey players only NHL game in the playoffs for a Stanley Cup winning and Calder's Cup winning teams. (See Doug McKay, Chris Hayes). Gord and his teammate Doug McKay accomplished the same feat by winning the Calder Cup and Stanley Cup in the same season, as teammates.
