Alan Louis Gropman (born 4 February 1938) is an American retired military officer, college professor, and author.
Gropman served 27 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, finishing his career as a colonel.
After retiring from the Air Force, he became a professor of history and grand strategy at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, an institution that is part of the National Defense University.
He later became an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and George Mason University.
Over the years, Gropman has written four books and over 600 articles.
He has also made six appearances on C-SPAN.
