Andrzej Józef Kanthak (born 30 November 1953, Wabrzezno) is a Polish manager who serves as an ambassador to South Africa since February 2017. Andrzej Kanthak has graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Poznan University of Technology.
After graduation he has been living mostly in Gdansk.
He has been working for ten years in the ship industry on managerial positions.
Since 1991 until February 2017 he served as the CEO of consulting company ABC Consulting Ltd.
He served both as a chairman and as a member of the supervisory boards of several public companies and the Foundation Theatrum Gedanense, under honorary patronage of the Prince of Wales.
Between 2006 and 2007 he was the President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.Since 1994 until 2016 he held the post of the honorary consul of the United Kingdom in Gdansk, acting between 2000 and 2010 as the President of the Association of Honorary Consuls in Poland.
He was also the director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Gdansk (1995–1998).Since February 2017 Andrzej Kanthak serves as the Ambassador of Poland to South Africa, being accredited to Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe as well.She can speak English, and to some extent, German and Russian languages.
He is married with one son.
