Helen Almira Shafer (born Newark, New Jersey, 23 September 1839; died Wellesley, Massachusetts, 20 January 1894) was a president of Wellesley College.
After graduating from Oberlin College in 1863, she was a teacher of mathematics at Central High School in St.
Louis, Missouri, from 1865 until 1875.
In 1877, she became professor of mathematics at Wellesley.
