Henrik Urdal (born 19 October 1972) is a political scientist and Research Professor as well as Research Director at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).
Urdal has been appointed the next Director of PRIO and he will start his four-year period in office 1 July 2017.
Since October 2010, he has been the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Peace Research, the premier journal in the field, a position that he overtook from Nils Petter Gleditsch. Henrik Urdal succeeded Kristian Berg Harpviken as Director of PRIO in 2017.
