About Rachel Reeves

  • Rachel Jane Reeves (born 13 February 1979) is a British economist and Labour Party politician.
  • She has served as the Member of Parliament for Leeds West since 2010. Reeves was Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2013, but following Jeremy Corbyn's election as leader in 2015, did not return to the Shadow Cabinet after her maternity leave. On 12 July 2017, Reeves was elected chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee.
