About Lucía Álvarez
- Lucía Álvarez Vázquez (born November 28, 1948) is a Mexican composer and pianist. Born in Mexico City, Álvarez received her degree in piano from the Facultad de Música of the National Autonomous University of Mexico; her instructors there included Carlos Vázquez, Pablo Castellanos, and Jorge Suárez.
- Other teachers have included Américo Caramuta and Pierre van Hawe.
- Álvarez has taught at her alma mater.
