Myldred Jones (born August 5, 1909 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, died June 19, 2006 in Los Alamitos, California) was a United States Navy Lieutenant Commander until she retired after a 17-year career.
Jones attended college at Wittenburg University that is located in Springfield, Ohio.
She studied social sciences and religious education here.Jones spent 17 years in the Navy up until she retired and became a consultant for California Governor, Ronald Reagan.
With her position came a lot of research that led to her success with youth and homeless shelters along with her adolescent hotline.
Since the creation of her youth shelter in 1978, over 10,000 youth have spent more than 91,000 nights in her shelter.
She worked in many different fields throughout her life.
