- Ekaterina Fleischitz (1888-1968) was the first female Russian criminal defense lawyer.
- In 1907, she graduated from the Sorbonne University's School of Law, and in 1909 she passed the exams for St.
- Petersburg University's full law course.
- She was the first Russian woman to obtain a legal education outside of Russia.In November 1909, Fleischitz was allowed to represent a client in court, but the Minister of Justice eventually removed her from the case.Fleischitz also worked as a professor.
