Ekaterina Fleischitz (1888-1968) was the first female Russian criminal defense lawyer.
In 1907, she graduated from the Sorbonne University's School of Law, and in 1909 she passed the exams for St.
Petersburg University's full law course.
She was the first Russian woman to obtain a legal education outside of Russia.In November 1909, Fleischitz was allowed to represent a client in court, but the Minister of Justice eventually removed her from the case.Fleischitz also worked as a professor.
