About Ioan Arbore

  • Ioan Arbore (born 1892, died 1954) was a Romanian Major-General during World War II.
  • He began his career as the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Fortress Brigade in 1941, and as the Commanding Officer of the 3rd Mixed Fortress Brigade later that year.
  • In 1942, he was the Chief of Staff, 3rd Army.
  • In 1943, he served as the Under-Secretary of Supply.
  • He went into reserve in 1944 and retired in 1945, but was arrested the following year and condemned to ten years of imprisonment as a traitor in 1948.
  • He died in prison.
