  • Monovithya Kem (born October 2, 1981) is the eldest daughter of Cambodian opposition leader Kem Sokha.
  • She is a member of the Permanent Committee of the Cambodian National Rescue Party, and its Deputy Director-General, Public Affairs.
  • She is Cambodian-raised and Western-educated.She first came to public attention when she successfully campaigned for her father's release from Cambodia's prison in 2006.
  • She was an organizer and speaker for the 2006 campaign to free her father and four other Cambodian human rights activists where she lobbied international rights groups and the U.S.
  • State Department and Senate for their support.
  • A candelight vigil at the White House, organized by United Cambodian International Council was also held to seek intervention from the U.S.
