About Mahn Ba Khaing
- Mahn Ba Khaing (Burmese: ?????????? [má? ba? k?à ??]; 26 October 1903 – 19 July 1947) was a Burmese politician who served as the Minister of Industry in Myanmar's pre-independence government. He served as chairman of the Karen Youth Organisation.
- He and six other cabinet ministers (including Prime Minister Aung San) were assassinated on 19 July 1947 in Yangon.Ba Khaing was an ethnic Pwo Karen and a Christian.July 19 is commemorated each year as the Martyrs' Day in Myanmar.
- His grandson, Mahn Win Khaing Than elected as 2nd Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw starting on 1 February 2016.
