T? D? or T? Du (Hán t?: ??, 20 June 1810 – 12 May 1902), born Ph?m Th? H?ng (???), was the wife of Thi?u Tr? and mother of T? Ð?c.
H?ng was a daughter of Ph?m Ðang Hung.
She was granted the title Empress Dowager T? D? (Vietnamese: T? D? hoàng thái h?u) after T? Ð?c ascended the throne.
T? Ð?c died in 1883.
Three regents, Nguy?n Van Tu?ng, Tôn Th?t Thuy?t and Tr?n Ti?n Thành, declared D?c Ð?c, the eldest adoptive-son of T? Ð?c, as the new emperor.
Three days later, they deposed D?c Ð?c and enthroned Hi?p Hòa.
T? D? was elevated to the position of one of the "Tam Cung" (??) together with Trang Ý and H?c phi.
T? D? played a significant role in the dethronement of Hi?p Hòa, whom was a pro-French emperor, and enthroned Ki?n Phúc.In 1885, she was granted the title Grand Empress Dowager T? D? (Vietnamese: T? D? thái hoàng thái h?u).
Tôn Th?t Thuy?t decided to launch the C?n Vuong movement against French colonists.
"Tam Cung" fled to Tomb of T? Ð?c together with Emperor Hàm Nghi.
Thuy?t decided to take them to a mountain base at Tân S?, and then went to China to hide and seek reinforcements.
"Tam Cung" refused, and came back to Hu?.She was granted the title Great Grand Empress Dowager T? D? (Vietnamese: T? D? thái thái hoàng thái h?u) by Thành Thái in 1889.
She died in 1902, and was given the posthumous name Empress Nghi Thiên.
A hospital in Ho Chi Minh City was named after her.
