Monte Kwinter (born March 22, 1931) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada.
He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 until 2018.
He represented the riding of York Centre for much of that period.
Kwinter was a cabinet minister in the government of David Peterson from 1985 to 1990 and also in Dalton McGuinty's government from 2003 to 2007.
Kwinter is the oldest person ever to be an MPP in Ontario.
On January 26, 2013, Kwinter became the oldest person to ever serve in the Ontario legislature at the age of 81 years 310 days, surpassing previous record holder Lex MacKenzie, who was 81 years and 309 days old when he left provincial politics in 1967.On July 20, 2017, Kwinter announced that he would not be seeking re-election in the upcoming 2018 election and that "the time has come to let the next generation serve, and I look forward to offering my support to our future York Centre Liberal MPP."
