Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is the 53rd & current Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohras.
The Dawoodi Bohra are a subgroup of the Tayyibi, Mustaali, Ismaili Shia branch of Islam.
He is a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed and is the 2nd son of the 52nd Da'i al-Mutlaq, Mohammed Burhanuddin and succeeded his father, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (but not without a dispute) in 2014 and is the spiritual leader of 650,000 people living worldwide (primarily in India, Pakistan and East Africa).
Saifuddin has led the restoration of medieval Fatimid architecture, notably Al-Hakim Mosque, Al-Aqmar Mosque, Al-Juyushi Mosque and Lulua Mosque in Old Cairo.
He is also credited with revealing the burial places of the 5th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 30th Dai al-Mutlaq in Yemen at different occasions in the year 2018 and 2019.
