Pradhan (born 1928) is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer, who served as Union Home Secretary and Governor of Arunachal Pradesh during the Rajiv Gandhi government.
Pradhan played a major role in the signing of the Assam Accord and the Mizo Accord.
He has held Secretary-level positions at the international and national levels in the areas of commerce, defence and home.
He was in service of the government of India for 36 years.
Pradhan was an IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre.
He joined as a Bombay State officer.
For the next five years he worked in Gujarat.
Later, he was an Indian representative diplomat in international trade and commerce in Geneva for ten years.
In December 2008 he was appointed to lead a two-man panel to investigate the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
