  • Rajnish Mehra (born January 15, 1950) is an Indian American economist.
  • He currently holds the Deutsche Bank Luxembourg Chair at the University of Luxembourg and is a research associate of the NBER.
  • His research interests include capital markets, asset pricing and growth theory. Previously, he was a professor at Arizona State University, the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an associate professor at Columbia University.
  • He has been a consultant to the Fixed Income Group at Salomon Smith Barney and an adviser to Vega Asset Management.Mehra is a co-author, with Edward C.
  • Prescott, of one of the most cited papers in financial economics "The Equity Premium: A Puzzle".
  • His research has been published in Econometrica, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, the Financial Analysts Journal, and other premier journals.
