- Richard James Kane (November 12, 1954 – December 25, 2009) was an American football running back in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins.
- Kane rushed for 1,486 yards during his NFL career.
- He played high school football at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, California, and college football at the University of Oregon and San Jose State University.
- Following his football career, he worked in the automotive industry.
- During 2005, he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident resulting in the loss of one of his legs.
