About Scott Hemond

  • Scott Mathew Hemond (born November 18, 1965) is an American former professional baseball catcher.
  • He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1989-1995 for the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, and St.
  • Louis Cardinals. Hemond played collegiate baseball for the University of South Florida.
  • In 1984, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL).
  • He returned to the league in 1986 with the Harwich Mariners.
  • Hemond led the CCBL in batting in 1986 (.358), and was named league MVP.
  • He was inducted into the CCBL hall of fame in 2007.
