- He is the Secretary-General of the Singapore People's Party since 5 November 2019 and was former Secretary-General of the National Solidarity Party (NSP) from 2001 to 2005.
- He served as a Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) from 2001 to 2006, during which time the NSP was part of the Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA).
