- A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), Teo is a member of parliament (MP) representing the Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency (Bukit Panjang SMC).
- He is also the Mayor of the North West Community Development Council (CDC) and a Deputy Government Whip.
