She is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Seputeh constituency from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.
She has been serving as a Minister of Primary Industries since July 2018 after Pakatan Harapan won the Malaysia's general election in 2018.
