He won the Finnish Chess Championship in 2008 and is the No.
1 ranked Finnish player as of February 2018.He played for the Finnish team in the Chess Olympiads of 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
He is one of the few players to have a positive lifetime score against World Champion Magnus Carlsen.
