- Thomas ("Tom") Joseph Murphy (born November 21, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York), was a former middle distance runner from the United States, who represented his native country at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy.
- He is best known for winning the gold medal in the men's 800 metres event at the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1958.
