  • William James Young (September 9, 1881 – December 5, 1957) was the head coach for the William & Mary Tribe men's basketball team from 1911 to 1913.
  • He led the Tribe to a 10–6 record during his two-year tenure.
  • Young was also the head coach of William & Mary's football team for two seasons, 1911 and 1912.
  • He went 1–12–2 during that time.
  • Young went on to serve as athletics director at the University of Maine in 1917.
  • He had previously attained his M.D.
  • at the University of Pennsylvania. Young served as the head football coach at Grove City College in 1914.
