Sir William Blackledge Beaumont, (born 9 March 1952 in Chorley, Lancashire, England) is a former rugby union player, and was captain of the England rugby union team, earning 34 caps.
His greatest moment as captain was the unexpected 1980 Grand Slam.
He played as a lock.
He is currently chairman of the International Rugby Board and was Chairman of the Rugby Football Union from 2012 to 2016.
On 11 May 2016 he was elected Chairman of World Rugby, his tenure commenced on 1 July 2016.
