Daniel Schaeffer Kemp (born October 20, 1936) is an American organic chemist.
Kemp has focused on peptide synthesis and conformation, developing chemical ligation strategies, templated helices and sheets, and useful tools (Kemp's triacid and the Kemp elimination).
He is an emeritus professor of chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is also widely known for being the author of a widely used organic chemistry textbook.
