Carlos Carbonell Pascual is the first Spanish judo coach to be in charge of another country's Judo team (Malta) with only 30 years old.
He also has been the first Spanish coach to be awarded as a Level 5 Elite Performance Judo Coach by the European Judo Union.
Carlos Carbonell studied a Bachelor of Science in Sports (specialized in Sports Performance) in one of the leading Sports Universities of Europe, the University of Bath in the United Kingdom where Olympic Champions like Amy Williams have studied.
He was appointed to be the National Coach of the Maltese Judo team during 2007 and 2008.
